Life after Death

Are You Ready?

Reference is given to Quranic quotation; (the Chapter:the verse
number) and to Prophet Muhammed's teaching (Hadeeth).


1. Man (here refers to man and/or woman) consists of soul (Al-Rouh) and body (17:85, 15:28 & 29)

2. The soul is introduced into the body 120 days after conception (Hadeeth).

3. Man's soul (Al-Rouh) and man's nature or inner self (Al-Nafss) are the same (39:42, 6:93).

4. Man's soul has the ingredient to be good and to be evil, and it is up to man to direct it to do good or evil (75:1-2, 12:53, 91:7-10, 89:27-30).

5. At the moment of death the soul separates from the body. The soul knows who visits her, and feels God's punishments or rewards (Hadeeth).

6. Every person is interrogated in the "grave" by the angels regarding his faith and deeds, irrespective of his way of death, with the soul joining the "body" (Hadeeth).

7. Souls are kept in a transitional state till the Day of Judgement, referred to as (Barzakh), this state is an intervenience state, an obstacle or a hinderance state. The Barzakh is of different status according to belief and deeds (Hadeeth).

8. The time of the Day of Judgement is only known to God and God alone (41:47). However, there are signs that its time is approaching (47:18). These signs are: minor and major (Hadeeth).

9. Man is not created in vain. He is held accountable for his actions on the Day of Resurrection, the Day of Judgement (23:115-116, 75:36-40).

10. The Day of Judgement is called:

11. The Day of Judgement starts with drastic changes in the universe as we know it:

12. On that day, the dead will rise, soul and body will join in a new creation (56:60-62).

13. The new creation will be done by God who created the first creation (36:78-79, 22:5, 50:15).

14. However, some people do not believe in the Resurrection (45:34-36, 30:27-28).

15. Man will be judged after resurrection. The judgement is to offer perfect justice (45:21-22, 38:27-28, 40:57-59, 53:31, 16:38-39) and based on faith and deeds.

16. Witness to the person's judgement are:

17. God knows every person's deeds anywhere (58:6-7)

18. This knowledge is kept in records by angels (82:10-3, 50:18)

19. On the Day of Judgement, every person's record is opened for him/her (17:13-14, 18:49, 84:6-15) and he/she is accountable only to his/her deeds (31:33,60:3,40:17).

20. Every action and every thing, even the fall of leaves off a tree, is recorded and known by God (6:59).

21. The Judgement and the Accountability is done very accurately and in full justice by the Creator and by Him alone (21:47, 23:102-103).

22. The road to paradise is a bridge (Al-Serat), over Hell-fire (19:71).

23. Hell-fire is called:

24. The material used to keep the Hell-fire burning is people and stones (66:6).

25. Hell-fire is a vast place, full of people but is not completely full (50:30).

26. The people of Hell-fire eat (Al-Zakoom) which is the worst type of tree (37:60-67).

27. They drink boiling drink (18:29).

28.They are clothed in fire (22:19-22).

29. Hell-fire is surrounding them, it is their beds and their covers (7:41,39:16).



30. They do not die in it and they are not really living, as their life cannot be called so (87:11-13).

31. Their burned skin is continuously being replaced by a new one, so they can feel the pain and the punishment (4:56).

32. They will not see the Creator, and it is their worst punishment (83:15).

33. They wish that they could ransom themselves with other members of the family or relatives or all human beings (70:11-15).

34. Hell-fire is hotter than our earthly fire (9:81). It is 70 times-meaning many times-hotter than our earthly fire (Hadeeth).

35. A believer does not stay in Hell-fire forever (manu Hadeeth).

36. There will be a conversation between the people of Paradise and the people of Hell-fire (57:12-15, 7:44-45, 50-51).

37. Jannah (Paradise) means garden. The word comes from janna which means conceal; as the garden is concealed with trees.

38. Jannah (Paradise) is called:



39. Its width is as the width of Heavens and the Earth (the size of the hell-fire is insignificant in comparison) (3:133).

40. Its people are believers with good deeds (9:111-112).

41. It has flowing rivers and it bears fruits. People of Paradise have purified husbands and wives (2:25).

42. Angels greet them with, "peace be upon you" (13:23-24,39:73,21:103).

43. The beauty and abundance of Paradise have not ever been seen or heard, or cannot even be imagined (Hadeeth).

44. The best reward for the people of Paradise is seeing the Creator (75:22-23,36:55-58,9:72,3:15).

45. Paradise and Hell-fire will stay forever and so will their people (11:103-108).

46. The people of Paradise drink a purified drink (76:21).



47. Their clothes are beautiful and they are dressed up in silver, gold, pearls and silk (76:20-22,22:23-24).

48. They are served from gold plates (43:68-72).

49. They get what they wish (41:30-31).

50. Paradise has rivers of pure water, milk which does not change taste, honey and wine of good taste which does not get them drunk, and every fruit (47:15).

51. It has extended shade, no heat (56:30-34, 76:12-14).

52. People of Paradise are given beautiful beds and sofas (76:12-14,56:15-16).

53. The men's wives are beautiful and young forever (37:48-49).

54. The people of Paradise do not hear bad talk (78:35).

55. They are served by young boys like pearls (76:19).

56. They visit and talk to one another (37:50, 52:25).

57. They have available cups, arranged pillows and scattered rugs (88:13-16).

58. God will speak to them and will not speak to the people of Hell-fire (3:77).

59. Their houses are full of everything good. (61:12).

60. They are served from silver plates and cups (76:15-16).

61. Their bounty is vast (76:20).

62. They drink from purified, good-tasting, gushing springs (76:5-6).

63. They are content with their lives (69:21).

64. The fruits of the Paradise trees are close to reach (69:23).

65. They are proud of their records of deeds (69:20).
